[It's a fairly windy day, but with the warm weather lately, it's more welcome than stale air. The past few weeks have been very busy for the healer-- observing the new feather cycle, schoolwork, assisting with Legato's surgery, capturing Mithos, looking after Derek--among other assorted events, leaving her less time for herself

[ buffy is heading towards the house on a sort of mini-mission. she wants to find albert -- to ask him some pointed questions, to get some advice.

however -- perhaps the strategist isn't home? perhaps buffy will have to confront someone she's been avoiding a little too much, recently. ]

[ It's Raine, not Albert, that Buffy will find outside in the garden. It's still too early for any harvesting, and the herbs, flowers and vegetables seem to be growing nicely.

She sees the blonde's approach from the corner of her eye as she rises, turning her head toward her ever avoiding friend. ] ... ah, Buffy. I didn't expect to see you.

[slaying]

Y-yeah. You too.

[ ... ] I mean -- that's not what I meant. Just...is Albert around? This isn't a bad time, is it?

[wise_maiden]

[ ... oh. ]

If he's not in his room, he might be over by the stables. [ She's been out and about during the day, so she hadn't properly seen him since breakfast. ] Is there anything I can help with?

[slaying]

[ hmm. no one had yet brought up raine's name in the proceedings. would grell come for her, too? no. no -- the attention has been thoroughly rooted upon jilly.

maybe that's for the best, in a warped way. ]

N-nah. I just had a...question for him. A whole strategist thing. It's not big.

[wise_maiden]

Oh... all right.

[ Not that she exactly believes; after all things that Buffy tended to term "not big" were usually in fact, big. But if she didn't want her to know, what use was there in prying? It had been the same way with that curry thing. ] Would you like me let him know you were looking for him, then?

...I'd appreciate that, thanks.

[ ... ] I've been well enough; a little busy, mostly. What about you?

[slaying]

Truthfully? I've been thinking about jump-starting the combat school. It's languished for a little too long. Y'know -- and I'm sure people could use the distraction.

[wise_maiden]

It's not a bad idea. Distraction or not, there are still many people who are unprepared even in basic defense when it comes to the drafts. There are a lot of newer people around who also might have an interest in it.

[slaying]

Exactly. And I'm nothing if not revved up to do some good. As much as I can.

Is it a distraction for you as well?

[slaying]

I'm always looking to be distracted, Raine.

... Fair enough.

At least it will be a productive distraction.

As opposed to all those unproductive ones. Like chocolate bars and rock albums.

I suppose the question is whether or not it's really effective.
