So. Here they are. Sixty-odd first lines of fanfic. Almost all the 'Gate stuff in here is online somewhere; almost none of the Buffy stuff is (because it's not finished.) So here are some teasers for things yet to come

I've already decided.
Wierd, to realize that while I'm flipping the coin, but there it is. I'm going to Atlantis. I'm going to leave everything I know behind and go to another freaking galaxy. And I'm just pretending to think about it. I already know.
And I know when I decided it, too--long before I got back to the US, anyway.

"This buddy of mine, this pal, this chum, this ex-lover, has this special orange chair that he sits in for every game, probably sitting in it right now...""Are you absolutely sure this is the right station?" Daniel hunkered down to squint at the dial on the portable radio, holding his bottle of beer precariously tilted in mid-air

I agree on the Cubs thing, but I suspect he also hearts the Twins. I did once write a drabble about Jack's reaction to a Cubs/Red Sox world series... I'll have to find that...
"I wish we'd thought to bring porn," said Sheppard, for perhaps the fifth time that evening.
"Speak for yourself," Elizabeth said, as she entered the room.
John looked up in surprise. "Elizabeth. How long have you been standing there?" He frowned at Ford. "How long has she been standing there?"
"I don't know, sir. Sorry, sir."
Elizabeth sat down, uninvited. Her expression was almost a smile, as her eyes caught John's. "If you're bored, Major, I'm sure that some excitement will present itself sooner or later."
"Do you know what I wish we'd thought to bring?" McKay asked. "Extra coffee."
i agree, taht last line really cuts to the core (porn's easy to replicate/create/etc, coffee on the other hand, it's a commodity that's worth more than it's weight in gold!)

Some of them are give-aways, though. Trance skipped through the Andromeda, happy and purple? Could that be anything else? :p

It could. But it isn't. I don't think the glitterfic has that many capital letters.

And helpful in understanding Sheppard better... I have such a hard time understanding Sheppard.

Although I so strongly suspect Jack is a Cubs fan... didn't he mention the Cubs somewhere early S1?
But of course he wouldn't root for the Yankees. That would just be wrong. :p
