COME TO THE CABARET

Feb 11, 2016 17:46

This is going to be short and sweet but since I always report on any encounters with the cast, I thought I should say something about attending the matinee of Cabaret in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 6.

I'm so glad you saw the play in Pittsburgh, lol! I'm going to see it in Baltimore, closer to DC but I gave my hubbie a choice between Pittsburgh and Baltimore. He chose wisely. Can't wait! Randy loved that the theater was on Liberty Avenue, too funny. Hugs and kisses --liz

Hello stranger.

So nice to hear from you. You will love Randy's performance. He is onstage almost the whole time sometimes lurking in the shadows or up above with the orchestra.

Oh yay! I'm so glad you saw Cabaret and loved it. I've heard nothing but great things about Randy as the emcee. I'm very excited that I'll be seeing it in Cincinnati on May 10th. May cannot come quickly enough.

Doesn't Randy look wonderful? He looks so happy and fit. I hope this is the beginning of even greater things for him. :)

I can't wait to see you in June!

*Hugs to you*

Hi Deborah,

Isn't it great that so many fans can see him in this play without all traveling to the same place. I don't know the schedule of cities since I didn't get past Pittsburgh but I would love to see it again in another city.

May will be here soon enough and then June! See you then.

Hi, Dixie!

We knew you were going to love Randy's performance in this play. It's the perfect vehicle to showcase his many talents, and I do think he's having a blast on that stage every night.

I was simply amazed at the way he dances in some of the numbers, especially the kickline. His kicks are just as high as the girls' kicks are, and they're professional dancers! LOL

Of course, the haunting "I Don't Care Much" gave me chills with his beautiful powerhouse voice and emotional delivery. The whole production was outstanding.

Thanks for this report. Loved reading it!

Hugs,
Linda

Thanks Linda,

After reading Trish's report, there wasn't much left to say. I did love his performance and was happy that this was the play that some of my non-QAF friends got to see him in.

I'm so glad that Randy gets to take this production on the road so lots of his fans can see him and I really hope his QAF cast mates get a chance to see him shine in it.

All his many play performances have led him to this and it's a real coup for him.

I feel the same way - after Trish's report there wasn't anything more I'd have to add, so I never did one.

I started thinking, since you've seen almost every one of his plays and performances, how does Cabaret compare with the others? Is there another one that you liked better?

Cabaret is certainly one of the best because it's the freshest in my mind and he carries the play with singing, dancing, emoting, camping about and having a great time doing it ( ... )

Randy singing and dancing "If You Could See Her" was one of my favorite scenes. Beautifully done and if you listen to the lyrics it holds true to what's still happening specially now. It's a very powerful play and most people don't expect it to be. I never saw the movie or play before so I was really moved and impressed by this touring production. Glad to have seen it with Randy as the emcee (outré performance).

If you could see her through my eyes I gurantee you fall (like I did). When we're in public together I hear society moan. But if you could see her through my eyes maybe they'd leave us alone.

Yet, when we're walking together they sneer if I'm holding her hand, But if they could see her through my eyes maybe they'd all understand. (they dance) Why can't they leave us alone? (spoken) Meine Damen und Herren, Mesdames et Messieurs,Ladies and Gentlemen. Is it a crime to fall in love? Can we ever tell where the heart truly leads us? All we are asking is eine bisschen Verständnis. A little understanding.

Rockie
