This is going to be short and sweet but since I always report on any encounters with the cast, I thought I should say something about attending the matinee of Cabaret in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 6.
Cabaret is certainly one of the best because it's the freshest in my mind and he carries the play with singing, dancing, emoting, camping about and having a great time doing it.
One of my very favorites was A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Shakespeare Theatre in Alabama because he played 4 different roles. I can't remember much about it now but he pranced around in a tutu as one of the characters and had a hilarious death scene with another. I also loved his performances as Andy Warhol in POP and Tommy and of course who couldn't love his wackiness in Silence and Swan. I also liked his performance in Waiting for Godot and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest though he wasn't the star. Equus and Amadeus were both great roles for him. I really prefer those performances over things like Antony and Cleopatra, Edward II, The Singing Forest, Ghosts, The Glass Menagerie, Mrs. Warren's Profession, The Habit of Art and Red. Harbor was fun and he was adorable as the old man in Endgame though the play wasn't much. In A Letter to Ethel Kennedy he was just a waiter in the background of most of the action but it was his first play during QAF and it was just a delight to see him in something else. Deviant was strange and Wicked was just a small role for a short period of time.
I guess I prefer in him in big productions where he has more to do that just act.
I've only seen him in Silence, Notes and Swan, Amadeus, and Cabaret.
Out of everything he's done, I wish I could have seen Equus and Tommy. Equus for obvious reasons LOL and Tommy because of all the singing. His voice is just amazing.

I forgot to mention Atomic which was probably my least favorite. I just didn't like it much though I think Randy had a good song or two.
