my spirit walks the streets of tottenham

So yeah, a lot has happened since I last updated this thing, but I won't bother going into most of it because it's boring and mundane.

I left my job. Well, it was only temporary anyway. On my last day we stuffed ourselves with chocolate and cakes, and hardly did any work. It was great. But it feels strange that I can sleep in as much as I want. Till I find myself another job, whenever that may be. I have signed up as a temp at a variety of agencies in Wakefield though, so I should get something soon. I'd hope so anyway, after all those interviews and tests and forms I had to fill in. Argh.

I have a PGCE interview at Keele University on November 29th. I have to do a two minute presentation on a novel I'd teach at Key Stage 3. After reading Ruler magazine I've chosen to do Michael Morpurgo's Friend Or Foe. Nice and short, easy enough to read, main characters are about the same age as the kids reading it...all good. I also have to read an article and do a written task on it, and then we get given a poem and we have to discuss it as a group. I hate poetry, so that should be interesting. I bet it's going to be something by Hardy. I really don't like him at all. But yeah...hooray for an interview! At my first choice as well!

Mum and I went to see Muse on Saturday night. They were excellent. I was very much impressed with Dom's drum riser. I tried to take a film of the robot-knights that were on in the background during Supermassive Black Hole, but I forgot to save it, because I am stupid. The support band (The Noisettes) were absolutely shite though. I've never seen such rubbish. My mum said they were even worse than the Mars Volta (who we saw supporting RHCP 3 years ago), and she wouldn't say that lightly because she thought they were crap too. It was definitely the best gig I have been to all year. Except for Take That, of course.

Today I went to see the doctor about my blood test results. He's sent me for another blood test, so I'll be going to the hospital for that tomorrow and won't find out the results for another week. I'm sick of doctors sticking needles in my arms. Leave them alone! Bah.

Oh, and I've just about finished all my Christmas shopping now, aside from my Bowlie Secret Santa present. Everyone had better like their presents now, dammit, after I've spent all my hard-earned cash on them.

The new Jarvis album is great. As is the new Joanna Newsom record. And Secret Name by Low. Does anyone want to go to the first ATP weekend by the way? I can't go on my own. Bah.

That is all.

pgce, work, christmas shopping, feeling ill, gigs, atp
