So I had an awesome day, sewing wise. I got the extra contrast fabric on the purple dress (
McCall's 4769 ). That makes the purple dress done-done. It is ironed and hanging in my closet. Woo! I also got the hems in the walkaway dress, and I am 15 minutes away from being done with that, AND I ripped all the backing off a queen-sized quilt.
My goals for the weekend are to get the walkaway dress done-done, and get most of Kay's pink polka-dot dress done.
I need more supplies to do the wedding quilt and the steampunk vest.
Projects
Kay's pink sundress -- broken strap sewed on.
Purple shirtdress -- worked on it tonight. Sewed down the collar, fixed a weak spot, added buttonholes. Needs buttons and a hem. Even added complication at the hem.
Blue walkaway dress -- hem is wonky, needs to be ripped and redone. Replace fastener at back. May need to hem up bottom wrap part. Hemmed everything, but I am dubious about the circle skirt hem, so I am going to ask someone before I commit something I can't take back.
Kay's pink polkadot dress -- Cut out but not assembled. Bodice is now half-assembled.
Kay's pleated skull skirt -- bought buttonhole elastic. Cut out and marked but not assembled. Bonus points for letting her help.
fairoriana's quilt -- old backing removed. Need to figure out if new backing is required. Needs to be bias-bound.
silmarian's old west/steampunk vest -- front needs to be recut. Pockets, truly intimidating assembly.
Kay's baby quilt -- It's all fun and games until the baby starts kindergarten
