I have not read anything since midday Thursday. I don't know that I will catch up at this point.
New job seems ok so far, complete with geeky people, casual atmosphere, working computer, candy, etc. Subsidized candy machine! It's the little things that count.
I appear to be under spec for monitors. I hope to rectify this, as this monitor is both dinky and grainy. We need only add flickery for my complete trifecta of eyeball resentment.
The view out the windows is amazing. I don't have a window, because I sit in a team room with my team. So far, they have shown me how to use SCRUMworks, and their pages on Sharepoint, and their bugtracking software. I ran into the other $formeremployer refugee, who seems tan and happy.
Lunch involved Call of Duty projected on the wall. There appears to be no social onus to play. Which is good. If you think I'm bad at other games, you should see me at first-person shooters.
I went to my first SCRUM meeting, at which I understood very little. But that will change. Happily for my gradual entry, they've had another guy covering, and he's going to finish out this sprint for me, and then I can pick up from there.
