"I talk in circles, I make no sense / I get so nervous, no recompense"

So, because I am a spineless wuss of a man, I bitched out on the chance to make a move on asking a girl out tonight at Barnes & Noble, even though (to his credit, because he's an awesome friend) Axl was trying to get me to man up.

We went into the Barnes & Noble at Waterford Lakes after dinner at the Macaroni Grill tonight and I headed straight for ( Read more... )

Are you sure it's Moot the Hoople and not Mott the Hoople? My dad was a fan of Mott the Hoople, Moot the Hoople could be one of those new bands that likes to operate under a name that works strictly in an ironical sense.

Seperate, more important note, I was half tempted to do all the leg work for you. I would have asked, on your behalf, if she was otherwise entangled. As much as one would like to think she was, due to her physical pulchritude, it's at least equally likely that she wasn't, since she likes music that only 45 other people in the English speaking world like. That includes the people in the band and their families.

At least you know where she works. You could come back in and get it workin'. It would be the equivalent of waiting at least two days to call so as not to seem too eager.

It's entirely possible this is just me, but as a woman, I find it kind of weird when men I have just met ask me out/for my number the first time meeting me. I mean, it's different if you meet at a party or something and talk/hang out for several hours first. That's one thing. But even if a cute guy walked into my work and we had a lot in common, I'd probably be slightly weirded out if he wanted my number within half an hour. Again, I might just be weird and atypical ( ... )

I agree with Abby about it being weird to be demanded a number right off the bat.
I also agree that you should get chummy with the B&N reading/listening sections.
And I also agree with you about Juno; it was pretty awesome. Not genius or anything, no, not because I have been told by numerous people that Juno reminds them of a teenage Lesley minus the pregnancy (not sure yet how to take that), but yes, the abundance of the Moldy Peaches made me really happy. I say buy the self titled CD. Weird, but it won't disappoint. Anyway, I have a pending lj rant about the Moldy Peaches/music as a trend in my life coming up, so that's all I have to say at this time. Go music.
