I may be wrong, but I think Australians can visit the UK for up to 90 days without a visa.

I'm not sure because I've always used my british passport to enter the UK but you may want to check before you pay renewal fees.

Hmm, good point. I just discovered quite how expensive the renewal fees are! Plus, I need to find someone with a British passport here in Melbourne who can counter-sign my passport photos and application form..

So I might be asking you when you're next up in Melbourne soon if the holiday visa looks tricky.. :)

If you do need someone to counter-sign, let me know in advance so I can check my passport number. I don't cart that around routinely.

It took the foreign office in Paris a whole six days to process my application for a first passport, so I think you could get a renewal pretty quickly if you get the application together.

I am up for a StepMania thing, if I can use the candy raver tracks instead of that other bolloks :p

Excellent :D

There's an awful lot of the candy raver stuff; also random jpop, hi-nrg, plus cheesy 80s, 90s, and also some not-so-cheesy psytrance.

Given that UK people can visit Aus without a visa (up to 90 days) I'd be amazed if someone on an Aus passport needs a visa for a short visit. These things are almost always reciprocal.

It's fear of the unknown :) I've always travelled there on my UK passport and not needed the visa! I should check where to apply for it at least..

There's nothing to apply for! You don't need a visa.

You're exactly correct. No visa is required. It's not quite reciprocal - British people visiting Australia need to apply for an ETA, which isn't a visa, but is a similar amount of faff to obtain. I'm pretty sure Australians travelling to Britain can just turn up at the airport. You will get sent to the longer queues at passport control, however.

Just use the Australian passport? You don't need a visa.

Reservoir is a bit too far for me to come and play StepMania, even though I'd like to. Even the Reservoir in the UK is a bit too far really, since it is in Alderney!
