Leg not looking better. Spoke with ER. Will be speaking with primary care first thing in morning. I am certain, at the very least, a change in antibiotics is in order. I suspect, more likely, there will be a hospital stay. It is becoming very painful.
On home IV therapy for the infection. Feel pretty wiped out. Hemoglobin is down to 9. Nurse will be doing blood draw here at home on Thursday. I am to spend much time resting. If hemoglobin goes much lower, my new primaries want hospital stay and transfusion. For now, rest.
No challenge to that; I don't feel like doing much else.
As if the potassium/electrolyte issue was not enough (it really knocked me on my butt), I seem to be developing a raging infection in the lymph edema in my legs.
Normally, this would be omg pain day - however, I talked with my oncologist who agreed this pain is an often side effect of the taxol and gave me a script for a hella dose of vicodin for dealing with it

Chemo went fine, but I have come to the conclusion the port is certainly NOT painless. Just convenient. But gods it hurts getting the IV set in

Chemo postponed until tomorrow. Oncology doc ordered me home to rest and has ordered up additional things in my IV prior to the chemo tomorrow - potassium and magnesium for starters.
Now going to my nest like a good peep and staying there at least until Phoenix is home. Then likely to make a gatorade and drug run.
The potassium dose has been halved, but I am to continue taking it. I see a new primary care doc on Monday. I have dismissed the med student. I remain off the Oxybutynin and hydrochlorothiazide until further notice

Potassium is up to 3.4 from 3 after all those pills. Taking more pills tonight. Nurse is consulting doc in AM and will give me further instructions then.
