I got back from my trip yesterday night, and went straight back to work on Jolteon...

I've got a bunch of stickers and Kids won off YJ as well, plus I received the clear Kids I ordered. Finally, I have an actual figure of Ninetales. Still looking for the Vulpix-Ninetales zukan - I think I'm many years behind the production date. ^^"

I've decided to start on my Jolteon anyway, so as of now the basic head of it is done. When it hardens enough, I'll be able to add ears and spike-like details onto it. /^^/

I officially completed my Vaporeon a few moments ago with a top coat of varnish.
What concerns me now is that it seems to be drying with cracks in it. The label warns me not to apply excessive heat to avoid 'crazing' but it's not at all hot indoors here. That and the PVA coat seems to attract bits of annoying fluff which stick to it like no tomorrow ( Read more... )

Surprisingly, the painting of this figure was by far the most difficult part of it. I probably should have started with something easier, like an Espeon. I don't have the best quality paints or brushes - the paintbrushes I have always shed hairs, and therefore they ruin whatever I'm trying to coat. I've been working on this clay Vaporeon figure on and off every day - So far I think I've got the head done, although there are some flaws with it. The side fins don't come out at the same angles in relation to the top one, and I've had to rebuild/reinforce the frill-mane about three times since I made it.
