I agree with you - you can definitely learn something about people from what they have to say about their icons. :) And I'm glad you like my Farscape comment: that icon means so much to me, and I don't think I will ever get rid of it unless it's to replace it with something that demonstrates the sentiments of that icon (in the Farscape-verse) better, which I think would be a hard feat.
