Episode 3 of Hanayome to Papa was charming - and I'm beginning to warm up to Junno whose character has been far surpassed by the leads (the father and daughter) - but in this episode, he showed improvement. He's still a dork, though, but so are Aiko and her father. This is the total dork drama, but that's what makes it so loveable. If I didn't love Aiko and her father so much, I'm not sure I could enjoy the over-the-top humor as much, but somehow they keep finding ways of making this drama more endearing all the time. Favorite moment in episode 3? When Aiko's father begins singing his strict house rules (7 pm curfew, no friendships with boys, etc.) to her while playing an acoustic guitar, folk-music-style. HILARIOUS! And he has a nice voice. :) This was a more emotional episode than the first two, however, and had some very moving moments like the fight between Aiko and her father when she first brings up her mother, and then later Seiji and Aiko's conversation about her mother which leads them to visit her mother's grave - which of course Aiko's father happens to see and he overhears what Aiko tells her mother about what's going on in her life at the moment. Very touching. By the end of the episode, it's clear that things are definitely changing for Aiko and her dad!

I also enjoyed episode 2 of Bambino very much! I didn't have as many issues with it as I did with the first episode in terms of unrealism; this was an improvement in that department, definitely! One of my favorite moments was when the staff was eating a tasty pasta lunch prepared by ballcap girl whose name I've forgotten. Everyone thought it was delicious and this moment happened:

It's a typical Italian gesture in which the forefinger is rotated in the cheek to indicate that something is delicious - and it's probably my most favorite Italian gesture ever! I was so tickled to see it in the episode.

This episode was all about Ban deciding whether he has what it takes to stick it out. The fateful day 3 has arrived and the bets are all against him (except for Yona, who's the only one who bet that Ban would stick around) that he will last past that third day. For every success, Ban must contend with his mistakes and the constant threat of failure. Behind this, is Eri who has been sending him messages since he left, which he hasn't picked up until he has to go to the hospital for a serious cut and he finally calls her back. Their OTP is adorable and it's refreshing to see an established couple from the beginning whose steadfastness is one of the drama's strengths, and certainly what Ban draws strength from.

Have I said how much I love Yona? :D
