It's a good and entertaining drama, but I'm not going to continue watching it because the repressive sempai-kohai relationship depicted in it reminds me too much of past real life events.

Honestly, I'm not comfortable with it either - I just find it rather stupid, honestly. I know that different cultures deal with arrogance in different ways, but frankly, they're running a business, and they can't afford to dick around with punishing someone at the expense of running that business ( ... )

My first reaction to the dish washing was that nobody told him where the dishwasher was. *g*
Every time some of that unrealistic stuff comes up, I automatically think: "Ah, manga!" which of course is no excuse to make it better in the dorama.

Ah, manga - of course! :) But you're right - that really isn't an excuse.

Oh, I've seen this happen a couple of times in the university I used to be attached to. Of course, that wasn't exactly business since the place used to depend on public money. I've also seen the dishes/pans scenario happened in the form or equipment/chemicals/research funds misuse.

Ban might be wrongly full of himself but he's still a student, and they know it - so they should make sure to remind him of that and guide him along

That's the problem with sempai-kohai system. It works out well if one gets a good sempai, but really, really oppressive when the sempai's into power games. And given the nature of the system, more often than not, sempais will abuse their power in some way. Imagine this at a larger scale of boss and subordinates, teachers and students etc.
