Today was my last day of official training here at the new job. Thank God. Now, if they hire me I’ll know how to conduct myself so that I’ll be considered a “good citizen”. They are talking more about “when” I’ll get hired and less about “if”, but since I haven’t signed any new paper work, I’m not getting my hopes up.
I’ve been told that I’m going to be required to travel up to, but not more than, four times per year. I’ll most likely be sent to sites where we have manufacturing facilities. Those sites are North Carolina, Switzerland, and Denmark. I may have to travel to other sites too, but that will be after I tour the manufacturing facilities. My first travel assignment is in September and I’m headed to North Carolina. It will be a day trip, and I’m happy about that!
When I do have to travel out of the country, I can take
feather_brain70 and my younger Brother, Rob with me. I’ll have to charge their tickets and meals to a personal credit card, but they are allowed to stay in the same hotel room as me. I guess that means they’ll be traveling the world with me! They’ll have all the fun, and I’ll do all the work. *sigh* I’m sure I can add on a day or two to my out of the country trips, but that comes out of my own pocket!
This Friday is the first Friday that I’ll be getting out at 12:30p. OMG! I can’t tell you how excited I am! My plan is to go to the gym and then home to nap before painting the town red, or any other color we decided to paint the town that night. Hooray for summer hours! My garden seems to be doing well this year. I’ve already got three baby tomatoes! The green peppers are a little slow and I’m kinda hoping they pick up the pace soon. Otherwise, everything else is doing very well! We’ve added red peppers and jalapeño peppers to the garden. My Dad had two flower boxes he didn’t want so he gave them to us to use.
I spent some time with Rob while he was here for leave. That was fun! He had a great time at Xmortis. *giggle* For those of you that were there, I’m sure you *hic* noticed! He said the sweetest thing to me while we were saying goodbye on Monday before he had to drive back to base. He said, “You’ll never become lame in my book and you’ll ALWAYS be someone that I WANT to hang out with.” *sniff…wipes tear away* He almost made me cry.
