Day 3: Free Soda….
Today is my third day here at the new job. So far, this place is pretty awesome! I’m still a temp until at least the end of the year, but I can live with that. It’s at least a garneted paycheck every week for the next 7 months! Oh, and yes. The soda here is free. I don’t drink soda, but I do drink soda water and that’s free too! Hooray! I love me a nice ice cold cup of fizzy water with lunch! Speaking of lunch, the cafeteria here is really cool. They have a ton of truly healthy breakfast and lunch options. Yesterday they had a veggie pizza with reduced fat cheese on a whole wheat crust. The cheese portion on the pizza wasn’t over kill either. Then there’s a huge salad bar and a soup bar, and they even had low fat turkey chili at the soup bar! I’m in heaven.
I can walk to and from work and it only takes 20 minutes each way. My hours are 8:30a - 5:00p, but starting today if I work until 6:00p Monday - Thursday, I get a half day every Friday for the rest of the summer! OMG! Can you say naps before Xmortis and any other event I’m going to do on a Friday night?!?! I can! Since I’m only going to start my extra hours today, I’m allowed to leave at 3p this Friday, but after that its 12:30p check out time for me!
Rob arrives today and I’m sure he’ll be spending time with our Mom and his Dad for the rest of the week. He’ll be at Xmortis on Friday, but I’m not 100% sure about him attending “HEROES” on Saturday. We’ll have to see what his schedule brings. This is his last leave until he’s out of the military completely in September. I’m looking forward to spending a little bit of time with him this weekend.
feather_brain70 and I finished our planting last night. We’ve got a flower box of spices, a separate pot of cilantro, a flower box of tomatoes, a flower box of green peppers, a flower box of yellow onions, a flower box of flowers, and 3 pots of flowers. Both the back and front balconies look awesome! I’ve even got the curtains hung! When I get home I’m torn between hanging on the front balcony and hanging on the back one! I’ve got to set the hammock up though. I took that down to accommodate seating for last weekend. My only surprise while cleaning and setting up both balconies was finding a forgotten cooler full of cheap beer from pat_man_ta’s birthday party last summer. Yep, I said last summer. *sigh* So if you come to visit and pat_man_ta offers you a can of cheap beer, don’t take it! Consider yourself warned!
