Taking a break from reading with writing

Looking back on the past 5 1/2 years, it's definitely become clear that if I do one thing well at all, it's learn. I'm damn good at it. Too bad I don't get paid for it (anymore). I may not have chosen the most practical of fields, but my brain is becoming very sharp and very precise in its operations despite the constant bombardment of numbing ( Read more... )

hahaha... looks like we have about the same schedules..

get my shit together and take tests.
finish fellowship apps.

I already pulled off the squeezing blood from a stone etc. last semester... gonna have to do it again in Jan.

Good luck your apps! I only had a vague memory about how stressful the process was up until about two weeks ago. But now that I'm in the thick of it, I find myself spending most of my free time (when I'm not supposed to be thinking about school crap) obsessing over making sure that I get them perfect. It really sucks that such important steps in our careers are carried out so impersonally on paper.

Hopefully we'll get a chance to hang out over Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what my transportation abilities are going to be like then (with a little luck, I'll be able to borrow someone's car for an evening or two), but I will be back with my own set of wheels in December. If we haven't hung out by then, I'll definitely organize a trip down to Lexington, even if it I end up venturing down there by myself.
