I know how you feel. There was one point where my sister got really into kpop (ie. Super Junior and, like, two others, and a few Korean dramas) and I tried REALLY HARD to like them, too, because my sister and I are almost always into the same things, but I just couldn't. I didn't like the music and it was hard for me to grasp the Korean traditions and humor, and then I realized I didn't even really WANT to understand it in the first place ( ... )

Exactly. It's kinda hard to get into something when you don't WANT to. And there's enough things in life that you have to do and don't want to, so I guess fandom should not be part of that.

I have invested like 6 years of my life to Japanese things, starting over would be so uggggh. *dies*

I get out of my Comp I class, which is so damn dull. \:D/

I tried to call you like 30 minutes ago, and you didn't answer. You're probably in class. XD

YAY! I want to do something, I could use some social interaction lately. College is so lonely. D:

I was really apprehensive about Super Junior at first. I remember watching a few of their performances around christmas, and I was left feeling throughly unimpressed. Not to mention they looked like an entire army while performing. Eventually the barriers broke down and now I know all of their names and love them to pieces, but not specifically because of the performances, even though all of them are insanely good dancers that put most of JE to shame (with the exception of Tsubasa and Ohno). They are just so wonderfully retarded and really like to play it up for the cameras, so there's tons of hugging and kissing and even the occasional groping, which amuses me. A lot of their shows have been subbed, so you can watch them and actually understand what they're saying, and I've started picking up some Korean phrases pretty quickly, and now want to learn Korean as well as Japanese ( ... )
