Went to see Mona Lisa Smile. It was, well, not very good. I had potential, however. It could have been much better, once a large dose of character development was added and Julia Roberts possibly taken out. Now, I would say that Julia Roberts did an awful job. However, it is not her fault that she was handed a shallow, two dimensional character. We needed to see some motives behind her character, and, really, who sees Roberts as a Wellesly professor? I don't. Julia Stiles and Kirsten Dunst and all of the students in the movie were wonderful and believable. Julia Stiles gets a gold sticker.
It would have made a better book, because it is a good premise, but desperately in need of character development and organization.
How's my future as a movie critic looking? :)
