We saw Atlas Shrugged, Part II this morning. Very faithful to the book, but the changes in cast from the first one (which we watched last night in anticipation) to this one really affected the continuity. So, my brother, as an act of payback for me forcing him to read Harry Potter way back when(which he enjoyed immensely), loaned me A Game of Thrones, which I am loving. Reading voraciously, enjoying every page, but dreading the bad stuff I know is going to happen. I love these characters (even the ones I don't)! I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. ( Read more... )

Watching Captain America. Joe and I both just realized that Sam Neill and Hugo Weaving could be brothers, both in voice and appearance. Am I the only one who finds The Polar Express movie to be really, really creepy? I think it's mostly that they made the Tom Hanks characters so... CGI Tom Hanks.

Oh, Lord of the Rings Extended Edition on Blu-Ray, how I've longed for you. I'm so happy you're mine.

I feel pings of Harry Potter 8 zinging around me. We're supposed to see it next weekend (my folks are going to have Cat for an overnight), but I don't know if I can wait that long.

Maybe Joe will break down and let me go while he stays home with her this weekend. He's off Monday and can see it then.

I'm taking the day off tomorrow. Taking Cat in to see the folks at my office, then dropping her off for daycare, and heading off to see Tangled. I've always loved the Rapunzel story - I'd go so far as to say that it's my very favorite fairy tale - and have for YEARS wondered why Disney never took it on. One of my all-time favorite actors is gone.

RIP, Leslie Nielsen. You helped to make my all-time favorite movie...well...my all-time favorite movie.
