Still totally in love with my job. :D I feel so lucky that I get paid to do something I love. And I have awesome coworkers. And there's cute little kids. So much good stuff. *twirls around* Working full time is tiring, though! I'm still adjusting to that.
Today was fun, we had the Reptile Family event this afternoon. The Reptile Guy was showing off his animals to the staff when he was unloading and loading them before and after the show. It was really funny because some people were absolutely terrified of the lizards and snakes. :P Anyway, I walked up after getting off my shift on the desk, and Kathleen barely introduced me to the Reptile Guy before he looked at me and told me to hold out my hands. He then proceeded to put a cute little snake in my hands, which I then put into a tank with sand on the bottom. Then he told me to tickle the snake's tail to make it disappear (it buried itself under the sand). It was so cool~!
Then during the actual show, I was in charge of taking pictures and picking the volunteers from the audience. One of the animals he had was a monitor, which is the second-biggest reptile, after the kimodo dragon. It was on a leash, and downstairs in the staff area when he was loading it onto his truck again, he told us that it sets a good pace for you if you take it out in the park. XD I want a pet monitor to go jogging with. Everyone would leap out of your way. :P
So that was loads of fun. I had an angry patron before the show (not at me, but it's still not fun to deal with someone who's angry ... especially when their anger is justified), but the show was so much fun that it made it all okay. (Well, for me, anyway; not, obviously, for the irate patron, who didn't go to the show.)
And I'm doing storytime solo tomorrow! =O I'm actually not that worried. I even volunteered to do it solo since we need to send someone over to another branch for their reptile show tomorrow. Wish me luck! :)
