Today my parents and I went to the Natural History Museum to see the Butterflies Alive! exhibit, which is a meshed-in enclosure full of flowers and butterflies like whoa. And you get to walk through it. It's so cool.

Santa Barbara is a resting place for the Monarch butterflies during their ~2000 mile migration. A sign informed me that they arrive in Mexico around Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), so they are symbolic of the souls of loved ones returning for the celebrations. I thought that was nice.

On the wall behind the butterfly, it says "Calle de las Mariposas" ("Street of the Butterflies"). :)

After that, we went to Kyoto for dinner (a Japanese restaurant, obviously not the city... XD). I had chicken teriyaki, yummy. And I managed to eat it with chopsticks, w00t! Then for dessert I had a strawberry mochi ice cream (ice cream inside of mochi dough), which was quite intriguing and also yummy. ^_^ Oh! AND they played "Fukai Mori" while we were there!!! =D
Ciao!
