oh, adware/spyware/viruses, how i loathe thee...
so at work this morning, one of our own computers was flipping out with popups and stuff. as in, one of the computers that we who combat this stuff all the time use. i would just love to know which of my coworkers downloaded all that crap. grrr.
the op on the shift before mine had done an AdAware scan and found 1204 critical objects. then i ran Spybot and found a few more things. i uninstalled some sketchy programs. then i rebooted in safe mode and ran AdAware again ~ 695 more objects. for a grand total of 1899. O__O!!! and it still wasn't clean!!! when i restarted in regular mode there were still a bunch of popups and then McAfee kept saying it was finding trojans... so i went back into safe mode and started a deep scan with McAfee. and then my shift was over and i ran away from the insanity.
really, 1899+ adware/spyware on a machine that's used exclusively by people who do battle with that crap all the time... who downloaded all those nasty programs???!!!
