I AM GOING TO
GERMANY THIS SUMMER!!!
I will be working/researching for three weeks at the
Internationale Jugendbibliothek/International Youth Library in Munich, where by "working/researching" I mean "FROLICKING AMONG CHILDREN'S BOOKS AND THOSE WHO LOVE THEM".
IT IS IN A 15TH-CENTURY CASTLE, PEOPLE! Filled with children's books! In all different languages! akjhfsfghjk!!!
I have had a GIANT DOOFY GRIN on my face since I opened the email at 11:45pm last night. YES, EVEN WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. :D :D :D
ETA:
Schloss Blutenburg:
ETA2: Ich sollte Deutsch lernen! <-- I babelfished that, but I totally need to learn more than the dozen or so words/phrases I currently know* as they are not really helpful and I was terrified about my lack of language skills the last time I was in Germany and clung desperately to
bretagnes_rose who was living there at the time and therefore did speak the language.
*Stuff I know in German: good morning/day, yes/no, how to count to three, mister/missus/miss, library, castle, do you speak English?, what to say when someone sneezes, please/thank you/you're welcome, and a swear word. Oh, and various types of museums from my labeling project at work, ha.
ETA3: I do not know how I will sit sedately and attentively through a three-hour lecture this afternoon when I still feel like running around and twirling with glee. Even when I try to sit quietly, I end up eee-ing quietly to myself.
GERMANY!! eeeeee... :)
