So I got my Bryn Mawr Alumnae magazine today.
It wasn't the issue with the updates from the odd years (aka, my year, 2005!), so it wasn't entirely full of people I knew who are now super-smart and super-successful and super-making the world a better place (now that I'm off to grad school, I'll finally have something worthwhile to report!).
Anyway.
On the back page of the mag, they have an ad for an upcoming alumnae trip to some really cool place abroad. They usually all sound fabulous, but THIS one killed me.
The
spring trip next year is to Spain. Specifically, Barcelona and San Sebastian. And the killer? The faculty leader for this trip is my favourite professor ever.
I took three classes with Profesora Song and was devastated when she went and took sabbatical for my last year at Bryn Mawr. And now there's this fabulous trip to Spain with my favourite professor and I CAN'T GO because it doesn't coincide with my stupid spring break at all, not to mention the fact that it's too expensive for a starving grad student, which I will be by then.
*sobs in the corner*
Okay, I really have to go finish my last-minute packing now. Must try not to think about Spain. ;_;
