...but a meme probably isn't much better. OTL
WHATEVER! Pairing Meme! (Snatched from
karnimolly)
(I thought I'd done this before, it looks familiar, but I can't find it...)
Btw, fun moment from last weekend's convention: someone misspronounces "meme" on stage; Steffen and me, at almost the same time: "it's meme! >)" XD;;;;

Three Ships I've Never Liked
10. Dick(Nightwing)/Damian(Robin) (DC)
11. Phoenix/Edgeworth (Ace Attorney)
12. Kai/Ray (Beyblade)
Two Ships That Have Piqued My Interest
13. Rick/Max (Beyblade)
14. Hercules/Amadeus Cho (Marvel)
1. Why do you dislike #11 (Phoenix/Edgeworth) so much?
I don't dislike it *much*... it just seems to be that most everything written for this pairing is fluff and/or cliché, with very few variations. Plus, it takes up so much space in the fandom that other beautiful pairings are just drowned in the pool of love that is Miles' and Phoenix marriage. And it might just be my impression, but people who ship Phoenix/Edgeworth usually don't like AJ:AA and want hobo!Phoenix to revert to his old self, which seems like such a pity to me. XD;;
2. Who do you know that ships #13 (Rick/Max)?
No one, really. Despite the fact that it's just horribly obvious throughout the third season (especially the first half) people are so fixated on their ships from season one and two that they don't give it a chance at all. There are few fanarts and even less fanfics. I should really get to that, because it's a thing of beauty I tell you!
Rick is all big and badass but really has a lot to learn that Max can teach him, though he wouldn't admit it (at the beginning anyway). And Max might seem all cute and cuddly, but he gets what he wants, trust me on that one. He needs to fight for people to respect him, but at the end of the day he's got his team on a tight leash, Rick (and Michael) included. XD
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3 (Rex/Yusei)?
Ah, the drama ship. I don't know when exactly we deverted from canon that badly (because Yusei was never fond of Rex and hardly trusted him farther than he could through him), but these two grew on me so much, prossibly because of our BDSM AU. Ideally, Rex would be the much needed father figure in Yusei's life as well as a dependable lover, but I'm afraid something in Yusei yearns for the dangerous and unstable, or at least for someone to rock his world on a regular basis. =)
4. What is your favorite moment for #1 (US/Germany)?
Talking historically (because they don't interact much - or at all - in Hetalia), I like everything 1945 and onward. Germany was shattered after a devastating loss and even though this was largely due to America getting involved in Europe it was Alfred who offered Ludwig his friendship and helped build him up again (not for entirely altruistic reasons, admittedly). The Berlin Airlift is another great moment for this pairing.
I also think that the pairing closely interacts with Russia/US and the Cold War, which is another pairing I find incredibly pretty~
5. How long have you been following couple #2 (Bruce/Tim)?
Ever since I got into comics in 2005! *___*x My first comic ever was Nightwing, but I quickly figured out that my favorite Robin by far was dear Tim Drake. Te's fanfics probably had an immense influence on me in that department.
Tim's credo that "Batman needs a Robin" got to me. He's not just doing the whole vigilante thing for himself, but also because it needs to be done. I think that in a way he's closest to Batman in many ways, because he understands him most and molds himself to be his perfect partner.
And Bruce... is just messed up. Not that Tim isn't, what with living and working with Bruce, but Batman's still number one. They're both brilliant minds who understand that the mission comes first (with Tim usually being a tid bit less extreme than Bruce).
6. What's the story with #8 (Snape/Harry)? What made you stop caring?
The lack of good fanwork that jumps in your face. I never had the patience to really go looking for fanfics and I had a lot of fun in my head with these two, but at some point the magic was gone and other pairings took its place. But I guess "abandoned" is too strong a word. Give me a well written fanfic and I'll be right there, shipping the hell out of these two. ^^;;;;
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 (Bruce/Tim) or #4 (Daryan/Klavier)?
I... but... they are... ARGH! These pairings are about as different as they get, I can't possibly chose between them! D= Bruce/Tim is all dark and sick and necessary, and Daryan/Klavier is full of brightness and fun (unless Kristoph is involved). I guess the only thing they have in common is that (in my head) both pairings are equally inevitable. XD
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 (Dick/Damian) or #12 (Kai/Ray).
DICK/DAMIAN OH GOT PLEASE MAKE IT STOP.
You know, at least Ray is sort of an okay character. I don't hate him. I think it's hilarious how he can be such a dick towards his old team, especially Lee. And while I'd never ever ship him with Kai, it doesn't make me rage like Dick/Damian does. Damian is where Tim should be, end of story. I wish they'd never made him canon. Send him back to the Elseworlds he came from! >(
9. What interests you about #14 (Hercules/Amadeus Cho)?
Everything. Amadeus is one of the most adorkable characters in the Marvel universe, and with his weak body and incredible mind he's the perfect contrast for Hercules' brutal strength. And they still love each other, dearly. Amadeus was heart broken when Hercules died, and I don't think Hercules could have done all he did without Amadeus by his side, and he knows it, too.
Plus: Ancien Greeks. ANCIENT GREEKS. ♥ Hercules wouldn't have found it strange at all to have sex with Amadeus, and with a bit of persuasion~
10. When did you stop liking #7 (Germany/Italy)?
Not sure. I still don't really dislike it, but... I used to call this my OTP, and I wouldn't anymore. Maybe because of the fluff (see Edgeworth/Phoenix). There's not much there to spark my interest, no kink, no fire. I think they're cute together, and probably even healthy for each other, but ultimately... boring? Oh, they can be funny, but we all know that's not what I look for in a pairing.
I'm sure on ecould depict them in a way that I would find interesting, and I'd love to see it, but I'mn tired looking for it.
(This, by the way, has nothing to do with my cosplay preferences. XD)
11. Did your waning interest in #9 (Marcus/Gabriel) kill your interest in the series?
Ah, no, if that were the case I'd have given up reading those books much earlier. ^^;; It's just that there isn't much fanwork for this series at all, even less of the slashy kind and none at all vor a pair of old villains. *sigh*
12. What's a song that reminds you of #5 (Steve/Tony)?
Dunno, I'm not good with songs. ^^;;
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
US/Germany, because of a certain RPG and Rick/Max because I recently re-watched season three. ♥
14. Which do you dislike the most?
Dick/Damian. There's no dislike button big enough for this pairing.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
Bruce/Tim and Steve/Tony, with no established relationships (but past sexual encounters) and none of them knowing each other's secret identities (except perhaps for Bruce, because he's Batman).
Bruce would be all Bruce Wayne, but possibly not at his most stupid, and Tim would be clever and witty and Tony would really like that, so much so that Steve would send him warning looks (that Tony would ignore because hey, he's not a minor! just barely).
And because they're all super heroes something would happen so that they meet again in costume and there'd be mutual attraction on all sides (except for Bruce, because he's Batman).
...or something like that. I just love DC/Marvel crossovers. ♥
16. Have #5 (Steve/Tony) kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
They have, in an alternate universe where Tony is a woman...! 8D
17. Did #4 (Daryan/Klavier) have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
Would you just stop it? Now Klavier's looking like he wants to cry. =( *pats his back* Don't worry, dear, he'll be out of prison in no time, and they you'll write rocky love ballads again, promise...!
18. What would make you start shipping #14 (Hercules/Amadeus Cho)?
You mean more than I already do? Fanfiction. It's all there in the comics, but I want porn, and someone to share my obsession with.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 (Bruce/Tim) or #6 (Kai/Tyson)?
But Kai/Tyson is already as canon as it gets under the circumstances! Even the writer said that there's more between them than friendship. Everything Kai does is meant to bring him closer to Tyson.
Keeping that in mind: Bruce/Tim. The fandom would EXPLODE. It's also really not realistic. I know that. It'll never happen. I'm not even sure I'd want it to. ^^,;;;
The point goes to Kai/Tyson for being the healthier decision. A bird in the hand and all that.
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #12 (Kai/Ray). What happens to them?
They stay friends but never date. They might find each other hot, maybe things happenand they have sex, but never a relationship, and never more than a one night stand neither wishes to repeat. Kai goes back to obsessing over Tyson (with occasional heating with Tala, just because) and Ray... goes back to being an asshole to Lee. ^^x
