(no subject)
Had a thought after watching X-Men: United, put it down.
Just a little blurb:
Rodney cocked his head to the side, staring with wonder at the screw driver hovering in front of him. He'd needed one, but didn't want to crawl out from under the hovering Puddle Jumper, and suddenly: there it was.
"Colonel? Did you do this?" It had to be an Ancient screw driver, one Sheppard could control, because he so didn't do that himself.
"Do what, Rodney?" Sheppard called out from inside the Jumper and Rodney shook his head. Nope. It wasn't the Colonel. It was definitely not himself either. He'd heard of the mutant war that had happened while they'd been out of contact with Earth for the past year. The news had come with the Daedalus and the new marines and scientists.
Almost everything he'd heard, scared him to death. Mutants, with powers that literally break anything down to it's base components. Who could control the weather, control ice, fire or metal. The so called 'Cure' that had made the Mutants attack homosapiens.
The so called 'Cure' that the military was trying to force on anyone who worked for them on sensitive projects.
Like Star Gate Command.
So far, nothing had come of it, the forcing of the 'Cure', but there had been more then one honorable discharge for no reason at all. Hell, even Colonel Paul Davis wasn't allowed onto the base anymore, and he used to be the Pentagon's liaison.
It couldn't be him that was holding the screw driver aloft. With that thought, the screw driver fell with a clatter to the floor.
"Fuck." Thinking hard at the inanimate object, it slowly slid across the floor to his hand. "Fuck."
I don't know if it'll go any farther then that, but I think it's got potential!
