[Thanks to Raphael being a whore announcing herself, Rei stirs slightly. The constant assault of her cat against her side isn't helping matters, either. And the odd sensation of warmth with the cold water doesn't leave for a deep sleep.
Give her a few seconds to blink and shift awake, but she stills abruptly once she realizes she's being held.
[Castiel, meanwhile, is contentedly and obliviously still asleep. At least until Raphael's yelling wakes him up and he starts, letting go of Rei completely and looking around in alarm.]
[She's pretty still, to her credit -- breathing even, her eyes fixated on her cat, who is swimming just out of each -- but when Castiel starts and lets go of her, she jolts out of her daze, fingers instinctively digging into her coat.]

Waste of time. We need to do something more productive. Come on.
[What that more productive thing is, exactly, Rei doesn't say. She's too busy trying to tread water.]
Give her a few seconds to blink and shift awake, but she stills abruptly once she realizes she's being held.
...how did that wind up happening?]

How long have we been here?

[He tilts his head, looking up at her briefly to ask the question and watch her attempting to tread water.]
