im all worked up ..... its stupid but still
so my roommates sister is taking an intro biology class or something .... she is i dunno middle aged.... so not like college student type .....
she is doing this for a job requirement or job advancement..... and once my roommate mentioned that i was a biology major she started calling for help with her assignmetns....... at which point i felt a little uncomfortable with .... but helped cause there really wasnt any harm ..... its hard over the phone to really get a sense of how much of your words are being plagerized and so on.... but still .. its homework and i dont mind helping.... i mean thats what students should do for home work is get help in understanding the materials and concepts and so on.....
however today i was asked to go over a mid-term..... and so i asked if it was a question test or like a paper..... when i was told it was a question test i said no .... if i help her..... even if i dont tell her the right answers... but tell her which ones she has answered incorrectly .... thats one not fair becuase im not available to all the students.... and i hate that.... and two not a test of her work and knowledge...
her plead was that she needed to do well...... and while i understand that .... i still feel that my help would have been much like cheating .... and not fair.... plus i dont want to do that .... morally .... plus as a former teacher..... i would have flipped out and the student would have gotten a 0 if i thought they had done that on a test ...
so i went back later and told my roommate that i was sorry.... that would help on assignemtns and labs but a test isnt testing her knowledge if i tell her if things are right or wrong .... thats the whole purpose behind assessment .... is to assess your knoweldge or skill or whatever....
anyway im bothered that my roommate also now thinks that imkindabeing a bitch by notdoing this for her sister....
