(no subject)
well just to let everyone know ... the sun is still shining ... the wind is blowing a little bit .. which makes the temps a lot easier to handle... its not anything more than a nice summer breeze really ... which is unsual ... we dont get a lot of breeze here ..... mostly lots of dead humid air ....
walmart is now closed... as i imagine so is everything else .. pretty much everything was shut down at noon today ....
my roommates sister and kids are here weeee.... two of them didnt bring/pack any clothes... well one packed pjs but that was it ... the other thought mom was gonna do it ... only the daughter managed to bring clothing ... so there was runs to go get some underwear and shirts and so on last night and again this morning cause child number 2 didnt make it known that he ONLY packed pjs and nothing else.... i hope we have enough food ....
as most everyone knows ... the more bored you get the more you tend to want to munch ....
my roommate is now a little concerned that we didnt get plywood to board up the windows.... again im not that much concerned...
her sister that lives in virginia called and told her that everyone should sleep down stairs in the living room ... just incase the roof comes off.... that wont happen .. not until after the hurricane passes...
see the part that im worried about ... is the tornadoes that pop up after a big storm like this cause of the converging pressure systesms .... and we will definatly get some of those ... just how many and where they hit is pretty hit and miss..... the other thing i could be a little concerned about is loosing gas .... and if we are out of water for more than two days ... those two things ... that and im thinking we should have bought another bag of charcoal ... we have some but i dont know how much ....

its odd cause you know this sort of thing could happen more in the witner up north and then you have to worry about heating yourself and keeping warm ... here it will be hot and muggy .... and tons of mosquietos if theres too much standing water for too long ... drat left the bug juice at work .... and all my sunscreen ..... if i really get enough cabin feever i can drive to work and get it ...
I am trying to clean up my second room enough so that the kids could come up and watch tv up here tonight or movies and that way the tv downstairs my roommate can have on the news or whatever....
apparently too... now i havent turned it on to see.. CNN is makeing it sound like the sky is falling ... i mean yeah it will be bad ... its a very large storm ...... but it wont its moving faster than alyshia(sp) that stayed and dumped rain for two days or something lilke that so flooded everywhere here .... its as big as carla ... which was 1961... however the wind speeds are conderably less.... and all of that could change before IKE hits land so who knows....
Just so everyone knows i am on the NORTH EAST coner of Houston .... i am just oustide of all the flood zones.... the park i work at is just inside the outter most flood zone.... im sure ill lose internet ... and maybe power ... but you never know ... ill keep ppl posted should anything happen ..
