Rambly Ramblings by a Rambling Rambler

I'm not really sure what this post is going to be about. I just felt like I should write an LJ post. I suppose this will be as much of a discovery for me as I write as it is for you as you read.

Unless you read LJ post spoilers. In which case, shame on whoever spoiled for you.

Huh. I wonder who would do that? I feel like there needs to be some spoiler blog for LJ posts, except it would probably just reiterate everything in an LJ blog in a less witty fashion, so no one would actually read the spoiler blog, just the LJ itself.

I'm sick. I don't know if I've got a flu or if this is just a delayed reaction from eating so much Easter candy over the weekend. Anyway, had a slice of leftover pizza and tea for supper. Don't feel any worse. Don't feel any better.

I really want to write. Now that I've finished with NBB, it feels like there's no barrier to me writing anymore. I mean, sure, I wrote things besides the NBB when I was supposed to be working on NBB because how else am I supposed to procrastinate, but I felt kind of guilty doing it. (Not that the guilt stopped anything.) And now I have no writing due dates atm so I can work on whatever I want. Which means over the past week, I've started (and not finished) three different one-shots.

1) Dark!Cinderella. Her dad dies, right? And she's the one who caused it.

2) A crossover between little-known-shows Kidnapped and Runaway, in which a specialist in the art of finding kidnapped kids is hired via favour to locate a fugitive family, and does so by going after the son. (Or, I came up with a legitimate way to get my favourite character from each show to meet!)

3) Jill/Eustace. Which is kind of weird since that was the ENTIRETY of my NBB (ok, maybe it was mostly plot, but they were the characters involved). Only it's kind of nice to be writing them in a different time and setting and not have to worry about anything but fluff.

Found two intriguing youtube series (serieses?) today.

The first: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which is basically Pride and Prejudice as told by a modern-day, vlogging Elizabeth Bennet. It looks quite fun!

The second: Squaresville, which is adorable and witty. Also, accidentalsquid said (and I totally agree) that it very much mirrors our friendship. <333

Speaking of NBB, posting began on Sunday. Woo! I'm so excited to read everything, and the two that have been posted so far have been fantastic. I'm both looking forward to the posting of mine, and dreading it. Usually, when I've finished a fic and posted it, I'll reread it several times while waiting for the feedback to start coming in. But I've been working on this thing for five months. That's almost half a year. I'm absolutely sick of it and yet I keep thinking that maybe I should have changed parts of it and then I remember that it's too late to make changes now (I mean, I could change it when I eventually post to ff.net but then it would be different from the original posting so I don't really want to).

So yeah. Mixed feelings.

What else? Um, Easter was this weekend, which meant that 1) I had a great time seeing family and 2) Lent is over which means I'm back on tumblr. Woo.

I mentioned that I watched both Runaway and Kidnapped recently, right? Add a third show: The Listener. It's a Canadian show, which is neat because they mention Canadian cities a lot and it fills me with Canadian pride. Especially when they mentioned where I lived. :D

The Listener is great fun, even though they set up this big conspiracy thing in the first season that was completely ignored in the second. And even though there's only two seasons, a third is coming out in a couple months, which is great.

Only now I want to watch another show and I can't find any that really fit my tastes at the moment. Any recommendations?

This is a really long and rambly post, I'm sorry.

I have only one day of classes left. This is very awesome. Scary, too, because it means that finals are almost here. OTOH, as soon as finals are done, I'm heading out the cabin for a week of writing with accidentalsquid and it is going to be amazing. And then right after I come back from that, I'm heading on holiday with my family for two weeks. Very excited.

I found out today that a good friend of mine finally started Doctor Who and is loving it. And yesterday I saw a different friend and at one point she said she might actually try Doctor Who at some point, since I mention it all the time. :D And two days ago, maybe three, another friend said she started watching Supernatural because of my recommendation.

I love it when my love of shows inspires others to watch them.

Yeah, I've rambled on enough.
