As there is only one week of classes left, it only makes sense for me to start watching a new tv show now, right? Yeah, that's what I thought. It's The Listener, and I'm two episodes in and seriously enjoying it. And as I was chatting with
accidentalsquid while watching, I ended up making a bit of a discovery:
Me: I just realized it's really funny that I watch a show about a normal guy pretending to be psychic in order to investigate crimes, and now I'm watching a show about a telepathic guy pretending to be normal as he investigates crime.
Jay: I find it really funny that you have such a thing for normal guys, psychic or not, who end up having to investigate crimes.
Me: What can I say? I love mysteries.
Jay: Also normal guys, probably a bit geeky, probably kind of sarcastic, definitely out of their depth, who end up solving crimes.
Me: THAT.
Me: BE STILL MY HEART.
Jay: Chuck, Psych, Leverage, White Collar. Also Rory [from Doctor Who], if you think about it.
Jay: Fringe.
Jay: Torchwood, if you replace "guys" with "Gwen".
Me: Well, that and my fav character on Torchwood was Owen.
Jay: Sherlock. Come ON, Watson is a blogger.
Me: Not that you'd know him, but fav character on Dollhouse was Topher. The geeky, sarcastic one.
Me: One of my favs on Firefly is the - no spoilers but - guy who's out of his depth and very awkward
Me: I have a type lololololol
Jay: I think you've got a niche trope.
