I can breathe again! Maybe the cold I've had since before Christmas is finally moving on... fingers crossed.
N has started sorting through old journals/magazines that he's collected, with the objective being to get rid of the crap. I'm all for encouraging this phase. Getting through all the stuff stored in the basement brings us one step closer to moving south. Whenever that may be!
The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus was actually pretty good. I know all the buzz is about Heath, and it being his last film, but the film is so much more than that. Not as good a Gilliam film as Brazil, but still worth watching. I enjoyed it more than Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, anyway.
Had a moment last week where I missed Mum so badly that it hurt. Really, really hurt. It surprised me that I can still have those moments, 18 years after her death. The month between Christmas and her death date is always hard, but moreso than usual this year. I'm overdue for a good cathartic cry, so that didn't help, plus being sick I'm sure had something to do with it. I'm better now, but the homesickness has well and truly settled in. And I know that won't leave until I'm home again in six weeks.
I'm procrastinating a lot this morning. Just not ready for it to be Monday again. My boss is off to the UK on Wednesday, and will be gone a week, so I'm going to try and arrange a couple of work from home days.
N is off to France for work next Saturday, and will be gone a week. The travel monster is back! Half of me is looking forward to time alone (and American Idol time!), but the other half is going to miss him a ton. I guess that's the way it's supposed to be.
Icky story of the week -- on Friday afternoon I had a meeting in the regulatory conference room, and discovered semi-fresh chewing gum stuck on the underside of the table. Eww! Even more ewww -- I discovered it when I crossed my legs under the table, and got my knee stuck on the gum. Double eww!!!
