Ribbon and Beads Necklaces!

Still fiddling around with the camera... took some pictures of my latest necklaces to test it out.

You know how sometimes on dresses or shirts, there are these little ribbons at the armpit you can use to hang the dress on a hanger, instead of folding? Well, those ribbons always bother me, so I cut them off of a pair of new tops I recently bought. I was left with a bunch of ribbons, and I decided to incorporate them into necklaces. So I took them with me to the bead shops in Tel-Aviv and bought some beads to match the colours.

I tied the ribbon to the chain on both ends, tied a bow on one end, and sewed it so it wouldn't come undone. On the other side I strung the beads. My favorite one is the large dark-purple glass vase-shaped one in the middle - all the other ones are plain shapes, but this one's special :)

Next up was the red ribbon:

Same technique, only this time I had two red ribbons so I used them both - which made the bow kind of lose control XD But I still find it cute. The red stones are also quite large, so the large, many-fringed bow kind of makes sense. Also, this time the chain is a little more interesting, with two sizes of links.

Next I used my black ribbon, and since black is a harsh colour when it comes to jewelry, I used a thinner, more delicate chain, and did two strands this time. I can't even begin to decide which beads are my favorite - I found some really amazing ones in the shops in Tel-Aviv and this turned out to be one of my favorite creations. I wear it often :)

I also have a light-blue ribbon to work with, but I ran out of chain (not beads, though! Somehow I have a huge amount of blue beads in various shapes and shades and sizes) so it'll be a while before I buy some and make a necklace out of it. Heh.
