So today started out pretty damn good, with a manager from Magnolia calling me like, ten minutes after I woke up. I'd left my details there over a week ago and had started to despair of ever getting a call from them; lo and behold, the first day after I get my car (still OMGing about that...) they call and invite me to interview!!
So I went to the mall where I'd left my details, and sat down with the manager (who finished interviewing the previous girl 25 minutes late... I was on time.) I discovered that the shop they were hiring for was in a different town - it's still only a 10km drive, wheras the branch I'd thought I was interviewing for is like 7km from home. So no big deal.
But. It's a store. It's the first branch of the line, and all the other branches are booths. There are a lot of pros to working in a shop as opposed to a booth: it's not in the middle of the mall's main hal, so it's quieter; there's a toilet and a little room where we can sit at breaks (she even said there would soon be a microwave!) That's very important for me, since I have to be able to take a break and eat something if my sugar drops. It's also a bigger staff, which takes some workload and responsibility off of one person's shoulder. At the stationery shop it was just me and two other people; that's a lot of responsibility.
Cons are that it's farther away than the other branches (but again, who cares, I HAVE A CAR so it's not like that means more bus time/fare), and that it's obviously much bigger than any booths. Lots more merchandise to be familiar with - every month the new collections debuts at this shop and then trickles out to the rest of the branches...
Still, if they'll choose me (out of, I think 5 girsl who've interviewed) then I'll definitely work there :D I'll also have to buy some white dress shirts. I currently have one that's all-white, and one that's got red/pink pinstripes so I'm not sure that one'll be okay... and I won't go buy before I know for sure if I'm in or not XD
The wage is 24NIS starting level, and from the second month on it could go up to 28 depending on my sales. But still 24 is more than minimum wage (20.7) which is what I worked for at the stationery shop. And there are other bonuses even after the 28, if the whole shop gets good monthly sales. MAJOR PRO.
Now all I can do is wait and hope...
Also worth mentioning: I drove to the interview in my new car and it was SO MUCH FUN. Obviously it's a step down from the previous two cars I've grown used to driving (Toyota Corola/Auris) and it's kinda loud, but it's still very smooth and takes turns like a pro. The wheel's a bit big but it's workable, and the gas and break pedals respond so frikkin well, it's unbelievable. I'm so in love. It's bloody dirty, though, on the inside - dusty and leaves and whatnot. I'll have to take it for a thorough inner cleaning soon. I got gas today - 200 fucking NIS, for a 3/4 tank (I was at a 1/4 when I went to fill up) and we'll see how many days that lasts me...
