Thank a sailor for their service, and remember those who gave their all.

Today is Pearl Harbor Day.

68 years ago today an attack took America by surprise. It was declared "a day that will live in infamy" and was one of the main reasons we entered World War II.

I didn't actually know there was a day set aside to remember this event until I was stationed at Pearl Harbor and my ship was granted the honor of performing the memorial service for our fallen shipmates.

If you know a sailor-or any member of our armed forces, past or present-take a moment to thank them for the sacrifices they have made, and please observe a moment of silence for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Fair winds and following seas, shipmates.

To those still out there today, God bless you and keep you safe.

*cries*, i will always be a united states sailor, fair winds and following seas, in memoriam, ;_;, pearl harbor, some days i miss the open ocean, pearl harbor day, proud to be an american, honor-courage-commitment, one of those days i get all: weepy
