Maybe I liked it because it was like adding a whole new level of douchebag to an already really douchebaggy character. And top of that, it seemed more feasible now that he could have a change of heart and actually get some kind of character redemption by allying with the boys if he was actually an angel all along (I mean, who's been messing with their heads all this time more than angels, right?). IDK, maybe I think about this stuff too much. Just... someone like him being "Loki" - when it was soooo easy to figure out, even in American Gods - it was just too obvious. That's what it is. I liked this twist because I didn't see it coming, *nods*, but I am like you and want him to not end up being a total douche. I don't think the straight-up Trickster would have been as believable if he just suddenly started helping... I mean comon he's a TRICKSTER. Even the Native American versions, when they'd try to do something right it would end up massively wrong. What am I yammering on and on about? *pops popcorns*
I. DIED. When Sam was the CAR... ZOUNDS. I pointed wordlessly and gesticulated and I still need to find the crazy glue to put my crazy back together.
And this! I'm doing the 508 review and HALP! I got the 'Laverne & Shirley' and 'Bosom Buddy' references in the opener, but I can't remember, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, what show they're mocking when they do the touchdown and fall into the grass, ala:
Yeah, I guess my worry when we found out he was an angel was that he WAS going to be too douchebaggy. I mean, Cas and Anna are pretty much the only ones who have avoided it so far, and they're both pretty low on the totem pole. Gabe, being so high up, could easily go the way of Raph and Zach and that it probably what scares me most. Though his look at the end there was pretty hope-inducing, so maybe . . .
Honestly, he reminds me a lot of Q from ST:TNG--or at least he did when he was just the Trickster. I'M JUST SO AFRAID HE'S GOING TO GO STUPID NOW. *FLAILS AND PANICKS*
HAHAHAHA OMJ I LOVE HOW EASILY THEY ADJUSTED TO SAM BEING THE CAR. Even if they'd had a lot of practice adjusting in the episode already. I, TOO, WENT A LITTLE NUTS AND SORT OF SPEECHLESS. I THINK I SCARED THE CATS WITH THE NOISES I WAS MAKING. :D
Oh, good, so I'm not the only one going insane trying to figure that out? IT'S SO FAMILIAR. I will poke around and see if I can figure it out. Just as soon as I can tear my gaze away from the lovely of the boys dancing and falling. OH MY LIMBER JARED!
BUT AT LEAST I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THE FONT THEY USED. That one drove me nucking futz all night until I finally realized what it was! AND THAT I HAVE IT ON MY COMPUTER. I made all sorts of happy noises when it came to me at three am. :D
