Here is the rest of the trip. As promised it is shorter :) I don't know if I'll get pics posted as our Gallery site isn't working and I'm too cheap to get a paid LJ account. Once again, this is copied from my handwritten journal.
The trip home wasn't too bad at all. I nailed the turn at the very sharp and slippery intersection (got a thumbs-up from
darph_bobo. He said it was perfect! :D ) We retraced out route home, sans the side trip to the pretty college campus. We still stopped at every rest area, but we just stretched out legs at the Hershey one, as we'd only been riding for about 1/2 hr. The fun began when we got to the I78/I81 split. On I81N wegot some really strong winds, mostly crosswinds, but some headwinds. They got pretty nasty in some spots too. You really had to push hard in some turns. We got gas again at Frackville, as the Magna can only go about 100 miles before needing gas. (Frackville is almost halfway, about 80 miles.) We stopped again at the Hazleton rest area, where the other ride gremlin popped up.
darph_bobo couldn't get the Magna to start. Luckily, he was able to bump-start it one we got out of the parking space. Because of that, we decided to head straight home instead of stopping for gas in Dickson City. We pulled into the garage about 45 minutes later. Once again, I did it!
Not too much in the learning department on the ride home, other than wind noise doesn't bother me. I guess I've ridden enough without earplugs that I can just tune it out. (And, yes I know earplugs are good, but when they hurt or don't stay in, they aren't good.)
So that was my adventure. :) Unfortunately, I spent all day Tuesday in bed with some sort of stomach ailment. Felt like crap. So I didn't get anything done except read 2 books and write up this. *sigh*
