So, you guys.  I am about to become a Mac user!

My old HP is 3 years old now and the hinge is breaking and it's slowing and HP transferred all their tech support to India, and I am so over it.  And I don't like Vista, don't have time for to learn Linux, and don't want to wait for "Windows 7" or whatever the Vista upgrade is going to be.

You are going to *love* being a mac user. They are beyond awesome. J just got a new model and it is so sexy and elegant. Me and my plowhorse powermac over here are mighty jealous.

Ah! The hard cases. I just remembered that the mac salesperson said not to use one because if it cracks it will damage your computer which is inside it. I have dropped my laptop down a flight of stairs and it was fine. (Not so falling onto the corner of my nightstand, but screens are a different matter.) I'd look into it more before using such a case.

I asked about that. The one you're talking about is the hard case that starts with an S...whatever fits the bigger Macbook Pros. This case is also known for not allowing the screen to tilt back fully.

The Incase hard case, which fits the 13" and which I got, is easy to put on and remove, and had a soft-touch coating. None of the geek reviews I read said anything about damage, and I read *lots* of them.
