Today I went down to Elmwood to the co-op, and I bought oatmeal and fruit and soap and lunch. Then I went to the comic store which was not open, so I went to Talking Leaves where I purchased the original classic translation of Marcel Proust's
Swann's Way. I went back to the comic store (which sadly no longer sells comics and so I left again). I went to the Blockbuster for a consolation prize, and discovered
Willow on DVD, which I then bought as it means I will be able to replace my 1980-whatever VHS. Then I came home and used the Internet to buy the Buffy comics I was missing. The comics which were the reason for leaving the house in the first place.
However, it occurred to me to recap. We have:
Food
Soap
Comic books
A movie for young children
Classic French Literature
....
I love the multifaceted geekery which informs my experience, but *jeez*. This is like that time I moved all my books and the 2 I forgot to pack up were a) a beginner's guide to basic bondage knots, and b) Beowulf. Because they had both been on my nightstand at the same time.
