I was listening to my laptop go nuts on random when Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" (song of the same movie) comes on. Nostalgic thoughts soon trailed into revelation. Disney's Beauty and the Beast is about an abusive relationship more so than looking past appearances. Adds a whole new level of depth. Did Disney understand they had that message and decided not to over-emphasize or was it subconscious?

It drives me nuts that no one at work ever says "Bless you." Not even "gesundheit." No one acknowledges it when you say it. It's just more of the isolated and impersonal interactions. Most people don't even bother with "hello" or "good-bye". Does it really surprise anyone that I'm aching to break free?
Currently I'm at an impasse. I want to leave the firm but that's kissing a generous paycheck good-bye. If I stayed on through my year I'd be worth considerably more. I have a job interview tomorrow with an art store which to some may seem like a step backward, but I'm eager to be somewhere I feel safe in. Something about rows of paints and paper...
On top of that I'm applying willy nilly and with enthusiasm for part-time teaching gigs! Joyous of holidays! I'm really excited about that actually. Downside is I need to polish my portfolio. Oops.
