Dean had been pondering how to get around to talking about a weekend off - not that he deserved time for himself, at any rate, but nothing else was quite pressing, so he might just as well - when Sam tried to angle the conversation towards going somewhere that didn't involve a case. Which got Dean's attention right up, enough to ask where

How about today?
He then took a sip of his coffee as he checked out the local news. "You know, this town seems to be a source for a lot of activity in the last 7 years..."

"We have a double blind date. Sort of. And it's now. Like... right this second. So we kinda have to leave... right now."
She watched as Lana gave her a weird look, and hoped she could still talk her into going.

Lana had no idea which guy Chloe had managed to set her up with, but she trusted her friend, even though it always seemed like they had the worst luck when it came to men. Thankfully blind dates usually weren't that serious.
She did just a couple of minutes of quick primping before joining her friend again. "Let's go."

He was still at that when he got the return message and grinned, returning to his own seat. "Oh yeah. Chloe - the chick I was talking to - will be over here, along with somebody called Lana, I guess. Maybe we'll get to hear some of that first-hand, she said she was a reporter," his face didn't change, nor did his voice waver, but he still did think of Cassie, if only for a moment, "working with stories about the, uh, extraordinary or weird. Sounds like she might know of those." A beat, then. "If you think it's needed to talk about work anyway."

Because it would make sense. "I got a reply that someone wanted me to meet a girl named Lana here, which is why I didn't object to this trip."

She tilted her head and glanced over at Lana. "How do I look? Good enough for a hot guy who drives an Impala, I hope?" She let out a tiny giggle, her excitement beginning to boil over.

"I'm sure he won't be complaining," she said with a smile.

"Lana, huh? I guess we'll see how that works out or something." His mouth twisted wryly. "I'm getting this odd itch about it being called a 'date' altogether. Sounds kinda... committing. I tried to make sure Chloe had no illusions about anything like that. Considering. Just a bit of time. And fire. And maybe driving down for walks on the beach." Was Dean Winchester nervous?
Possibly. After all, he hadn't been on a 'date' for a hell of a long time, and some of those memories weren't all sweetness and light. One way or another.
But maybe it was just the word.

But the nervous hitch in Dean's voice made Sam smirk. Oh, big brother was nervous about meeting a girl? Now he was curious as to just what this Chloe and he had talked about.
"Well, if anything, we have the escape vehicle. We just won't separate unless we're sure on them."

"All right... let's go." she said, and proceeded to get out of the car.
She led the way into the cafe, and began to look around for their "dates".
[ooc: Sorry for the wait, guys. Real life kinda stinks right now. *sigh*]

As they moved closer, the other one caught her eye. His face might not be as familiar, but it was just as handsome. She found herself smiling, suddenly glad her friend had dragged her along.

"You've so got a point with tha--" And then his eyebrows shot up, he stood up straighter and grinned appreciatively. "Well hello there."
Let's say that the sight of the two young women moving generally in their direction through the cafe was... to his liking. And then some.

Well, at least it wasn't a case of a hot chick and her horrendously disfigured sister. Or her feisty grandmother. Been there done that.

"Dean and Sam, I presume?" she asked, breaking into a dazzling smile. "Hi... I'm Chloe, and this is my good friend Lana."

Well. Lana seemed no less determined about Sam, and that didn't seem all that bad right now.
Dean grinned and answered easily, "Chloe, Lana. Nice to meet you. I'm indeed Dean, this is my brother Sam, and did you two set each other up for this thing? Just asking." He liked feisty. Or a little naughty, for that matter. He shifted further into the seat, and went on. "Care to join us here, or do you know the place by heart and would rather blow off someplace else first thing?"
No separating until they were certain of them, check, for now. But at least visually? No bad surprises. Quite the opposite.
