Dean had been pondering how to get around to talking about a weekend off - not that he deserved time for himself, at any rate, but nothing else was quite pressing, so he might just as well - when Sam tried to angle the conversation towards going somewhere that didn't involve a case. Which got Dean's attention right up, enough to ask where ( Read more... )

Sam, meanwhile, was with his laptop checking his e-mail, and in particular his online blog. He found the e-mail that notified him of the anonymous comment and hit reply.

How about today?

He then took a sip of his coffee as he checked out the local news. "You know, this town seems to be a source for a lot of activity in the last 7 years..."

After seeing the messages from both Dean and Sam, Chloe had been quick to call Lana, and even quicker to show up on her doorstep, giddily telling her they were going out. When Lana asked where, Chloe excitedly began to rattle and ramble.

"We have a double blind date. Sort of. And it's now. Like... right this second. So we kinda have to leave... right now."

She watched as Lana gave her a weird look, and hoped she could still talk her into going.

"Well that's not vague and unexpected." Not at all.

Lana had no idea which guy Chloe had managed to set her up with, but she trusted her friend, even though it always seemed like they had the worst luck when it came to men. Thankfully blind dates usually weren't that serious.

She did just a couple of minutes of quick primping before joining her friend again. "Let's go."

"That so? Huh." He went around to look at what Sam was browsing through, frowning a bit. "I guess, uh, it never made national news or something? That's weird. Like they kept it all closed up around here for some reason, or something." As in, as with so much. The information was obviously available, but also not easy to dig up. Unless you knew what, or at least where, to look for it.

He was still at that when he got the return message and grinned, returning to his own seat. "Oh yeah. Chloe - the chick I was talking to - will be over here, along with somebody called Lana, I guess. Maybe we'll get to hear some of that first-hand, she said she was a reporter," his face didn't change, nor did his voice waver, but he still did think of Cassie, if only for a moment, "working with stories about the, uh, extraordinary or weird. Sounds like she might know of those." A beat, then. "If you think it's needed to talk about work anyway."
