One of the most tedious things, to me, is people complaining about the lack of media attention for particular things. For example, so-called right-wing people complaining about the supposed lack of media attention of the Paris-riots, or so-called left-wing people complaining about the lack of coverage of South American events.
*sigh*
What I'd prefer is if there were less need for the media to cover such events. Why, for example, is it important for the media to cover the results of an Earth-quake in Pakistan? Or, the failure of a coup in Venezuela?
Given the inability of various Western Aid organizations to solve the problems of third-world countries, I seriously doubt that increased media coverage is going to help. Do we seriously think that people in Western countries are going to solve the problems of these countries? Maybe they will, but I think Western people would be better to concentrate on their own problems, before trying to solve the problem of schooling shortages in Kashmir, or whatever the f*ck.
And who the f*ck in Western countries seriously thinks they understand the problems of South America? I certainly don't and I really don't respect people who think that they do.
