I got some great news today. A great friend of mine, who lives in Italy, has managed to get herself a new job.

Superficially, this doesn't seem like an important thing. But, that superficial response is wrong. She has been studying and applying for new jobs during the entire ten years that I've known her. For as long as I can remember, she has been discussing her job applications and the many things she's been studying, to try and succeed at her job interviews.

The reason for her wanting to succeed at getting a new job was because she felt worthless because of her previous job. It was only ever approved as a temporary job, but the temporary nature was never put into practise. As a result, she always said that she felt like a failure, because her job wasn't a real job.

Now, after all these years, she's finally succeeded. I'm incredibly pleased for her. It's the greatest piece of news that I've had all year.
