Jude's Movie Gay Roles Mega

Feb 27, 2013 12:01

A guide to ALL the gay theme movies that Jude Law had ever played in the past 40 years.

Jude used to play real homosexuals in his early career.

Wlide (1997)

Jude played the famous Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas, who was best known of his romance with Oscar Wilde (played by Stephen Fry).

Midnight Garden of The Good and The Evil (1997)

Jude played the young violent boytoy, Billy, of Kevin Spacey's billionaire, Jim.

Then he started to play non-straight men, having all kind of unresolved sexual tension and tingled romanctic relationship without actual sex, with his the buddies in the movie.

The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)

Jude played Dickie, an alluring fop who later got himself murdered and his identity-assumed due to his playful seduction to Matt Damon’s Tom Ripley.
In the originally noval, Tom loved Dickie's girlfriend but not Dickie. Also, there was no erotic bathing scene in the book. Who knows why it has become a homoerotic thriller in Jude's interpretation.

Gattaca (1999)

In the title card of the movie beginning, it says "Consider God's handiwork: who can straighten what He hath made crooked?" We know nothing straight in this movie.

Jude played Eugene, a genetically perfect man who was crippled by a car accident. In order to live in his lifestyle, he rented his identity to a natural born and heart-defected man, Vincent (played by Ethan Hawke), to achieve his dream in this engieneering dominated world.

Eugene shared his body fluid with Vincent as a daily basis. He would referred themselves as the same unit. He felt hurt when Vincent dated another girl and eventually commit suicide when Vincent left...

Enemy at the Gates (2001)

This movie is quite well-known of the chemistry between the two male leads in Jude’s fandom.

In the Battle of Stalingrad, sodier Vasilli Zaitsev (played by Jude) saved himself and commissar Danilov (played by Joseph Fiennes) by his impressive marksmanship. They then developed a friendship. Danilov suggested to Nikita Khrushchev to portrait Vasilli as an idol figure to improve morale. Soon, Vasilli was worshiped as a national hero.

However, their bond was shaken up as Danilov got jealous when Vasilli fell in love with Private Tania. Meanwhile, German forces sent Major Erwin König, who also had an incredible sniping skill and craftiness, to take out Vasilli. The two matches fought a hard battle.

When Tania was severely wounded that Danilov thought she was killed, he finally got over his jealousy for Vasilli. Finding Vassili waiting to ambush König, Danilov intentionally exposed himself in order to reveal the Major's position. Vassili successfully kills the Major and offers Konig’s gun to his sacrificed dead friend as a memorial.

Love their cute bonding. I think they would have a happier ending if there was no girl.

After kissing Khrushchev on lips, Vasilli stared at Danilov nervously as he was worried that he would be blamed by kissing another man. But Danilov looked really proud of Vasilli instead.

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence (2001)

Jude played a lover robot, Gigolo Joe, who against his natural function -- to sexually please human -- but befriends and journys with a child robot, David (played by Haley Joel Osment), to search for the Blue Fairy.

Since it is not showed in the movie, no one knows if Gigolo Joe only serves women, or both.

Gigolo Joe: There are girls your age that are just like me. We are the guiltless pleasures of the lonely human being. You won't get us pregnant or have us to supper with mommy and daddy. We work under you, we work on you and we work for you. Man made us better at what we do than was ever humanly possible.

When Gigolo Joe said so he is holding the teen's hand. Then he pointed a light beam that projects an exotic girl on the teen's crotch. Look how turned-on the teen was in the last pic. The gigolo must know how to please a guy too.

Alfie (2004)

A movie based on a 1966 movie, which had Michael Caine playing the title character.

Jude played Alfie, a charismatic womanizing chauffeur who seduced and had sex with his passengers but cutting them loose once they want commitment and responsiblity from him. He also planed to start a limousine service with his best friend Marlon, who suddenly moved upstate with his girlfriend without saying goodbye to Alfie. At the end of the movie, Alfie found out that Marlon and his now-wife were secretly raising Alfie’s child!!!

All the King's Men (2006)

The scion of one of the state's aristocratic dynasties, Jack (played by Jude), who turns his back on his genteel upbringing and becomes the right-hand man of Willie Stark (played by Sean Penn), who rises from hardscrabble poverty to become the most powerful political figure in his state by blackmailing and bulling his enemies into submission. Jack uses his considerable talents as a historical researcher to dig up the unpleasant secrets of Willie's enemies, which are then used for purposes of blackmail.

Cynical and lacking in ambition, Jack has walked away from many of his past interests--he left his dissertation in American History unfinished, and never managed to marry his first love, Anne Stanton, the daughter of a former governor of the state.

Jack discovers that Judge Irwin, a father figure from Jack's childhood, accepted a bribe, and that Governor Stanton covered it up, when Willie asks Jack to look for skeletons in Irwin’s closet. The resulting blackmail attempt leads to Judge Irwin's suicide which leads Adam (played by Mark Ruffalo), Anne’s brother and Jack’s closest childhood friend, to accept the position of director of the new hospital Willie is building, and brings about Anne to begin an affair with Willie. When Adam learns of the affair, he murders Willie in a rage, and Jack leaves politics forever.

Actually I did not have a chance to watch this one yet, but my friend told me that it is almost like a love triangle between the three male characters.

Jack's willingness to turn back from his familiy and sacrifice his dreams as to follow Willie without getting any real benefits is skeptical enough, and his intensed eye-fucking with the guy does not help answering at all.

It seems to be that Adam murdered Willie for having an affair with his sister, but let's not forget Adam's sister was also Jack's girlfriend. And I was told that Adam was not thrilled about Jack's devotion to Willie to begin with.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Jude played Watson to Robert Downey Jr. 's Holmes. It would be needless to explain the gayness in this duo, right?
The sequel was even gayer when they casted Stephen Fry (who once was the Oscar Wilde to Jude's Bosie) to play Sherlock's brother, Mycroft.

Repo Men (2011)
It is an adaption of Eric Gracia's noval The Repossession Manbo, a futuric action sci-fi that you probably missed.

Set in the future where artificial organs can be bought, Jude's Remy is one of the "repo men" who reclaims his company properties once the clients fail to pay the bill with no guarantee of the person's survival. However, he wants to transfer to a sales job because the bloody work 'cos conflicts to his wife.

Remy's teammate and childhood friend Jake (played by Forest Whitaker) does not want the departure. After the failure of persuasion, Jake rigs the defibrillator unit to malfunction and causing "accident" in Remy's final mission, necessitating Remy's heart damage so that he has to receive an artificial heart replacement and becomes the client of his company. To pay the debt, Remy must stay in the repossessing job, which exactly fulfill Jake's wish.

Unfortunately, Remy can no longer perform his job after the organ transfer but attacked by his targets. When he wakes up he meets a girl, Beth, who is a multiple organ receiver and avoiding to be repossessed. Together, they attempt to flee the country only discovered by the airport security and attacked by the repo men leading by Jake. Remy is knocked unconscious by Jake with a steel chain and hook.

When he is awakened by Beth, they escape a raid by the repo-men. Remy then decides to clear their accounts in the headquarter of the company. After the intense fighting, they enter the database and realize that the only way to remove themselves from the system is to repo all of their artiforgs by a scanner. So they cut themselves open in the most steamy way and fisting inside each other's body... almost like watching an erotic dismemberment pornographic.

Jake and their boss enter the database room as seeing Remy scanning somewhere inside Beth, who stopped breathing in the process already. Jake asked Remy whether she worth all the hardship and pain that he has put himself through, which he confirms. Then Jake kills their boss and assists Remy to resuscitate Beth. They then burn the database and escape.

In the end, Remy is enjoying himself on a tropical island with Jake. But when he turns and smiles at Jake, the image flickers. It reveals that Remy's brain was permanently damaged when Jake attacked him in the head with that steel chain earlier. To his remorse, Jake pays off Remy's account and also has places him on a neuro machine that allows him to live the rest of his life in a dream. It means that the second half of the movie is just Remy's fantasy.

Man, I can't even describe how deep Jake's love is to Remy!!! Who would expect a action flick would have such a homoerotic undertone?

Jude is also very capable of turning his rivals into his love interests.

Dan: You're an animal.
Larry: Yeah? What are you?

Dan: You think love is simple. You think the heart is like a diagram.
Larry: Have you ever seen a human heart? It looks like a fist wrapped in blood! Go fuck yourself. You writer! You liar! You go check a few facts while I get my hands dirty.
Dan: She hates your hands. She hates your simplicity.
Larry: Listen. I spent the whole of the last week talking about you. I know all your little ways. Anna tells me you fucked her with your eyes closed. She tells me you awaked in the night crying for your mother, you mommies boy. I could go on. Shall we stop this? It's over. Accept it.
[Dan starts crying.]
Larry: You don't know the first thing about love because you don't understand compromise. Oh, don't cry on me.
Dan: I'm sorry. I don't know what to do.
Larry: You want my advice? You go back to Alice.
Dan: She'd never have me. She's vanished.
Larry: No she hasn't. I found her, by accident. She's working in a club. Yes, I saw her naked. No, I did not fuck her.
Dan: You spoke to her? How is she?
Larry: She loves you beyond comprehension. Your prescription is where she works. Go to her.
Dan: Thank you.
Larry: You’re still pissing about on the 'net?
Dan: Not recently.
Larry: I wanted to kill you.
Dan: You wanted to fuck me.
Larry: Don't get lippy.
[...]
Dan: Thank you.
Larry: For what?
Dan: Being kind.
Larry: I am kind. Your invoice is in the post.
[Dan starts to leave.]
Larry: Dan. I lied to you. I did fuck Alice. Sorry for telling you. I'm just not big enough to forgive you, buster.

Even though it was supposed to be a movie about boys and girls falling in and out of love, Jude surely saw a different aspect in the story.
Jude: "There's a certain amount of ego goining on between them. You could argue that for them it is almost more important that they're screwing over the other guy than getting the girl they're in love with."

Sleuth (2008)

Another adaptation from Michael Caine's work. The original version did not have the homosexual undertone but the new one is probably the gayest movie of Jude's work.

Jude played Milo, a charming and witty young man who has an adultery with the wife of an equally smart aging novel author, Andrew (played by Caine). Andrew invited Milo to his mansion to play mind games. The two rivals eventually become too sexually tensed that lead to an unexpected result.

Anna Karenina (2012)

Jude played Karenin, whose wife had adultery with Vronsky (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson). Karenin ended up embracing a crying Vronsky, holding his hand and eventually raising his child...

Jude also cross dressed in:

Saturday Night Live playing Nicky Hilton
The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes: Shoscombe Old Place (1991) playing Joe
Rage (2009) playing Minx
I Heart Huckabees (2004) playing Brad

Sometimes, even though the movies do not have a gay theme, Jude will still give us a gay scene or two.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) as Joe and Love, Honour and Obey (2000) as Jude.

I think his character, Will, in Breaking and Entering (2006) was once referred as the "ex-girlfriend" by his friend. But I could not find the movie yet so I am not sure.

Last my not least, let me remind you of eXistenZ (1999), a bold movie about anal sex, metaphorally.
