I guess it's because they're like werewolves? Well related to werewolves. And most of them don't like vampires so... I guess that might be why.

I SUPPOSE THAT MAKES SENSE.

It differs. In my world, vampires only drink blood, and strictly that. Eating regular food... it makes me sick at least. And we can't go out in the day.
