The Holiday season again?

At least it'll be different this year. Not the best place to have it, but I suppose it will do.

{{ACTION}}
*Because all the other times, Conrad spent it in his small apartment usually. Sometimes he'd have his mother over, or spend it with few choice friends, but this is all headcanon here. BUT, he might as ( Read more... )

I can't imagine where else you've spent Hogswatch if Mayfield 'will do'.

Ah! Susan I um. *just the person he needed to hear from! He clears his throat...*

Could you come over?

[Surprisingly forward of him. Susan is surprised for a half-moment before she regains her composure.]

If you'd like. I assume it's pressing business?

Y-Yes it is rather important. I'd... rather not talk about it over the phones.

I'll be there in a bit.

[And she is. 'A bit' translates to 'less than a minute' or 'surprisingly fast'. They live four doors down from each other, after all.

She supposes it's more polite to knock and does so.]

*He opens the door and peeks around to see if anyone else was around, walking on the sidewalk across the street or anything of the sort before he gestures her inside*

Come in.

[She raises an eyebrow at his paranoia before stepping inside and closing the door behind her.]

You're a bit twitchy today. Not that you aren't usually, but . . . more so.

*He furrows his brow and walks towards his bookcase in the living room...*

I got something in the mail.

Crippling paranoia counts as a regain?

[Despite Susan's oh-so-wittiness, she is fairly certain she knows what's coming next as she follows him to the bookcase.]

*Conrad shows a section of his bookcase containing Discwold novels*

Um. Yeah. Thought I'd let you know since... Teatime knows that I know a bit about your guys' world.

You haven't told him about this, I assume.

[Susan approaches the bookshelf and examines the novels. One in particular, of course, catches her eye -- Hogfather. She takes it out and idly flips through.]

. . . The narrator of this story is terribly twee.

*He shakes his head furiously*

N-No I have not. I don't to intend to tell him.

And I don't ever recall thinking that.

[Susan turns just the slightest tinge of red before shutting the book and briskly reinserting it back into its place.]

See to it that you never do. And do refrain from mentioning anything about the future to me, either.

*He glances at her. Wow she was actually flustered for once... BUT he turns. looking back down at the books, and nods*

I might put them under my bed instead. Just in case something bad were to happen.

B-But I just thought I'd let you know.

[The annoyed expression on her face fades after a few moments. Being annoyed in Conrad's presence was like being annoyed around a lame stray puppy.]

And I appreciate it. What you do with them isn't really any of my concern. If you . . . enjoy their literary value, then continue, by all means.

. . . I suppose I'd be a complete hypocrite to ask if Teatime ever really does come back to life somehow. He would, you know, if only to spite me.
