It seems rather dull in detention...
Oh before you go thinking I've finally taken Susan's advice and been caught doing something wrong, I'm just here monitoring a bunch of first-years doing lines. It's nothing but dull, I must say, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to do it.
One of the house elves, an odd little one with tea cozies upon his head, brought me breakfast. I do love house elves, don't you? I don't know how muggles get on without them. They're honestly how the wizarding world gets on so well. Oh, well, aside from all that you-know-who business. He's just a right big git, shouting on about ancestry and muggle-hating. BORING.
I've been reading up more on muggles now that I'm in N.E.W.T. level lessons and I've been discovering just how rediculously muggles have behaved to compensate for the lack of house elves. Slavery being the most obvious blunder.
The only thing that muggles really have that interests me are 'cars', which are these huge metal contraptions that move without horses or magic and go nearly as fast as a broom! Who would have thought a muggle could come up with something like that?! The only issue is that muggles use something called petrol to power them, and it's apparently quite bad for the air. Sad, that. They do look pretty neat.
Well, detentions are finally wrapping up. Time for lunch! See you in the great hall!
