Will's been thinking a lot lately, about the future mostly, and the past. Or, to be more specific, his future in the past.

It's been about a year since some strange sort of magic ripped him from the 18th century and deposited him on a beach in Hawaii, in the 21st. Hundreds of years in his own future, alone and confused, he'd tried for weeks to find a way back to his own time, and to Elizabeth, his love. In the end she found him, and the couple have been living happily together ever since. It's been an adjustment, living in 2006, but they've managed, even flourished to an extent. Still, Will finds himself missing Port Royal - the sights, the smells, the people, even the primitive (to this century, at least) living conditions. It was a simpler life there, even with the pirates. He misses his job at the blacksmith shop, as hard as the work was. And he misess the sea.

Will knows Elizabeth has been feeling the same lately. For her, the homesickness is even worse, because in addition to Port Royal, she's missing her father. He sees the sadness in her eyes when she doesn't know he's looking, the longing she tries to hide from him. Living in New York has been an exciting adventure, but he's come to realize that, like all adventures, it's time for this one to end.

He makes his way through the house - he still thinks of it as Orlando's, even though they've been renting it for close to a year now - and finds Elizabeth in the living room, watching the television. He smiles slightly to himself at the sight. If they do go back, he will miss TV, just a little.

"Elizabeth." He speaks her name just as he always has: with great love and a soft sort of wonder that she's actually his.
